Rules/Info/Pricing

Have fun – Whilst racing is competitive, remember we’re all here for a good time.
Be respectful to all – There is zero tolerance on hate speech, bullying or any inappropriate or intimidating behaviour.
Respect the venue and the club’s equipment. Misuse of club equipment or reckless damage caused to club equipment is not allowed.
Do not walk on the track with shoes on.
Clean up after yourself. Leave the venue clean and tidy and dispose of any rubbish.
Any person attending that is under 16 years old must have a parent or guardian (over 18) to be present for the duration of their visit. Young children must be supervised at all times.
All racers must pay an entry fee for each event they attend. This is on a pay-as-you-race basis.
The race director reserves the right to refuse entry to any event, or grant membership to any person, if it is apparent (or believed) that they will not abide by the club’s rules.
If a person breaks any club rule they will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. The race director will always attempt to resolve an issue at the lowest level possible. If formal action is deemed necessary by the race director then they can implement point deductions (at their discretion), disqualification from the event or in extreme circumstances, be asked to leave and/or barred from the club. In any of these circumstances, no refunds will be provided of any fees or membership paid. The race director’s decision is final.
All racers must hold a valid club membership to race at an event. New racers are allowed to attend 3 race events before they then must obtain membership to continue racing at the club. Racers will unfortunately not be allowed to race at an event if they do not have a club membership in place by their 4th race event.
Club membership is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
Payment must be made in full at the time of issue.
Club membership is non-transferable and non-refundable.
As well as club membership, any racer that has attended more than 3 race events must also have a valid BRCA (British Radio Car Association) membership – this is to ensure that the club is legally covered and insured. Racers will unfortunately not be allowed to race at an event if they do not have valid BRCA membership in place by their 4th race event.
Safety first. Race safely and respectfully. Avoid reckless driving that could endanger others or damage property.

Racers are to leave the track immediately following the end of their race.
Good sportsmanship is expected from all racers.
Race control can request to conduct a technical inspection of any racer’s equipment for the purposes of safety and fair play.
All racers are to have a ‘i-lap’ transponder installed. It is the racer’s responsibility to ensure it is functioning correctly.
Racers are to only operate their car from the designated area as defined by race control at each event.

Race setup

Qualifying heats: minimum of 3 heats per racer. 5 minutes duration each. Best qualifying heat results are used to seed qualification order for mains. Maximum 8 racers per heat.
Mains: minimum of 1 main race per driver. 7 minutes duration each. Racers are seeded into main races based on their best qualification heat result. The fastest driver in the qualification heats will be seeded as 1st in the ‘A’ main starting order and so on. There can be several different mains depending on the number of racers at that event (e.g. ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ main).
Points are awarded to each racer based on their finishing position in their main race only.

Points, Series and Championships

Points are awarded at each race event for a racer’s finishing position in their ‘main’.
The racer who finishes 1st in the ‘A main’ will awarded 100 points and subsequently each finishing position behind that are awarded 1 less point than the position above them, as shown in an example below:

A Main:
1st – 100 points
2nd – 99 points
3rd – 98 points
4th – 97 points
5th – 96 points

B Main:
1st – 95 points
2nd – 94 points
3rd – 93 points
4th – 92 points
5th – 91 points

Each race event is part of a respective series. For example, all race events that take place between March-May are part of the ‘Spring Series’ and all race events that take place between June-August are part of the ‘Summer Series’ and so on.

Points awarded from each race event will accumulate within that specific race series. At the end of the series the total accumulated points for each racer within that series is calculated and this will provide the final series standings.

At the start of each new series all racers begin with 0 points.

The 4 race series that take place over the course of the year form part of the racers yearly championship standings. Individual racers’ points won across all 4 series (Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter) in that yearly championship are combined and will provide the overall yearly championship standings.
